Oregon legalized cannabis for use with a medical marijuana card in 1998 and later for adult use in 2014 through the Adult and Medical Use of Cannabis Act.
Michigan legalized medical marijuana in 2008, then legalized cannabis for recreational use in 2018. It was the first state to legalize weed in the midwest and the tenth overall in the U.S.
