Seven years ago a group of physicians and scientists started out to make a difference in medicinal cannabis with an emphasis on medicinal. By June of 2018, we presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting our first results using a combination of THC/CBD to reduce the amount of opiates required for long-standing chronic pain. We demonstrated a 75% reduction in opiate consumption and were featured on multiple news channels and our results were published. (1) Unfortunately, it became clear that we were outliers in this industry and sold our interests in the THC space as recreational use was the driving force there and this wasn’t compatible with our goals. We clearly understand the potential of cannabinoids to affect overall wellness and think the CBD arena is more in line with our goals as a company: impacting both human and animal wellness.

Our goal is to provide you some insight into the underlying science related to cannabinoids and other relevant topics. For example, you can search by author name (e.g. search Spirtos N ); or topic (e.g.search CBD and apoptosis), or even a specific journal ( e.g. search Science ) just to mention a few. This will allow our readers and customers to better understand the underlying science of the endocannabinoid system and how this may or may not be of benefit.
As a physician-founded company, we believe that it is important to be medically accurate regarding our products. Although there is a wealth of anecdotal information regarding the effectiveness of broad-spectrum CBD and cannabinoids, in general, acting as anti-inflammatories, there are few, if any randomized trials (gold standard) completed at this time. At YUZU CBD plus we have incorporated supplements supporting joint health (Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM) as well as an essential element from the YUZU citrus which has a documented anti-inflammatory effect in an effort to create a synergism towards the endpoint of a feeling better.
