Green Acres Farm comes from a long line of innovative, diligent, and hardworking farmers. In the early 1900s, Henry York left his life behind to buy a small piece of land in Western Kansas. He travelled alone by train, not knowing what lay ahead. Little did he know, Henry started a tradition of farming that would continue for five generations. Henry’s sons Dwight and Forest, formed York Brothers– a farming venture that grew to include their new families. Daren, Dwight’s son, worked diligently on York Brothers from a young age and eventually grew into a leadership role following high school. Daren continued to push the boundaries of what farming could be, and in 2008 formed his own venture with his wife Jennifer, York Farms. Through economic strife came turbulence, but also success.
