Critical Concentrates

Critical was founded in 2013, in Northern California. When Critical first arrived on the scene, there were few companies producing high-quality, full-spectrum concentrates. Our focus had originally been cultivation, but we quickly learned that there was a need for trusted concentrates in the cannabis community. We shifted our focus from cultivation to concentrates, and never looked back. While many in the market (both, then and now) focused on maximizing profit, our focus has always been on quality over everything else.

Critical decided to focus on improving manufacturing practices in the Industry. Without the need to satisfy regulation, we self-imposed strict safety measures by investing in certified lab-equipment and scaling our processes. Our goal was to bring quality concentrates to all of California.

In 2015, Critical earned its first industry award. We were persuaded to enter our concentrates into competition after attending a trade show where a patron said “our concentrates were better than the stuff that won.” We entered Hempcon and came in 1st Place. We had always believed we made quality concentrates, but winning the competition validated those beliefs.

Critical went on to compete in over a dozen more competitions over the next few years. During that time we accumulated a record of 21 First Place finishes, 4 Second Place finishes, and 9 Third Place finishes all in concentrate categories. Our record from 2015-2018 stands as one of the best in the entire world.
